Peacebuilders Training

“Excellent! It has opened my eyes to how I think things through and act in conflict situations as well as giving me new tools to be able to support others in conflict situations.”
Janet Green, Genesis Sale Moor Community Project, Conflict Mediation Skills participant 2008

Training Overview

Conflict Resolution training is about learning to live and work together in a peaceful and dynamic way. The need to invest in a sustainable culture of peace is becoming more and more apparent in our diverse and changing world. The people we have worked with send clear messages about the value of conflict resolution training and the benefit to their schools and organisations.

Peacebuilders delivers both in-house training and a programme of public training courses. As a not-for-profit social enterprise, Peacebuilders wants to enable as many people as possible to take part in its training courses, and therefore we offer extremely competitive prices.

Compare our prices with other providers. We also offer a tiered system of costing, according to the type of organisation that people are from.

Introduction to Dealing with Conflict

This one-day course is invaluable for anyone wanting to improve their communication skills in conflict situations. Communication is essential in any partnership, organisation or group, but too often people misunderstand one another. This course provides a solid understanding about how conflict affects people and how to communicate more effectively.

Accredited Mediation Training

Our conflict mediation skills training is a five day course delivered in two parts, to enable those with busy work schedules to attend:

Participants may attend part 1 only, but should note that this would not equip them to run a full mediation between two people in conflict, which is covered in part 2.

There is the option of achieving accreditation by the Open College Network (OCN), which requires some extra course work outside of the five days. On completion of the two courses, participants will receive two units at level 3 OCN: ‘Interpersonal Skills within the Mediation Process’, and ‘Joint Party Mediation’.
